Today is a special day. Special because I’ve been spoilt by the super pet-friendly, pet loving, and pet grooming people at Mystical Pawprints. I’ve been groomed here before but this time the owner, Sharlene Thoma, insisted on sponsoring my grooming session in support of my #Ride4Huskies travelogue (that’s the hashtag to use if you’re sharing […]
Welcome to my very first blog post ahead of the #Ride4Huskies travelogue! If you’re new to my blog, I’m JAXX – a Red Siberian Husky – and I love travelling. Obviously, I’m not actually writing this (my paws are too big for the keyboard). The Fossil is (that’s Desmond Langkilde, my adopted human). He is […]
The Fossil (aka Des) says that I can wrap up this edition of my Walk 4 SOS Huskies journey from Plettenberg Bay to Cape Town. There are so many people (and Huskies) to thank, so if I’ve not mentioned you (or your Husky), leave a comment and I’ll update this post. First off, I’ve gotta […]
Today’s the last day of my Plettenberg Bay to Cape Town journey. I’ve gotta tell you ’bout the people, places, and Huskies that made my last day of walking so special. The Fossil (aka Des) and I hung around Hout Bay beach until 9 am, and when nobody showed up to walk with me, I […]
Yippee! Did I have fun today? You betcha! Today’s MushItUp was the best day of my entire Walk 4 SOS Huskies fundraising journey. And guess what? I’ve been made an Honorary Member of the Mush It Up Husky Sled Pulling Team! So we met up at Muizenberg’s Sunrise Circle (on the beach in front of False […]
Todays leg of my Walk 4 SOS Huskies journey starts from the Noordhoek side of Chapman’s Peak Drive and ends in Hout Bay. That’s the plan. How did it turn out? Read on… It was still raining in Kommetjie this morning. Around mid-morning the rain eased up, so The Fossil (aka Desmond) packed our stuff […]
We left Sartorial House Self Catering Studios in Simons Town this morning to drive to Kommetjie. We actually started todays leg of my Walk 4 SOS Huskies journey from the same Kommetjie Long Beach spot that we ended off at yesterday. Except that today it’s overcast and it started raining just as we arrived on […]
It’s a long walk from Craftart and Gallery Emporium at 128 Saint Georges Street in Simons Town to Kommetjie – sixteen kilometres (that’s about 10 miles to my overseas followers). But that’s OK ’cause it only took three hours and twenty minutes to get there, and I’m loving my Walk 4 SOS Huskies journey. We […]
The Cape weather is weird! Yesterday was sunny with clear skies, and today’s overcast and rainy. Well, we left The Yard, our pet-friendly host in Gordon’s Bay, and headed for Simons Town in the Mahindra PIKUP to continue my Walk 4 SOS Huskies journey today. I’m sure looking forward to seeing the statue of ‘Just […]
Wow, what a beautiful day for walking! Sunny, clear sky, no wind, and that unique fynbos smell in the air. Sadly, we have to leave the Frank Robb Hut at Kleinmond Caravan Park to continue my Walk 4 SOS Huskies journey today. We’re being hosted at The Yard in Gordon’s Bay tonight, but more about […]
